As the nights draw in what could be better than intimate evening of puppetry, poetry and popular song with London-based songwriter, Helen McCookerybook, poet, Kate Doody and puppeteer Rob Ashman (Sea Legs Puppet Theatre)?
It's an absolute pleasure to have Helen come and sing for the WHC, her songs are gentle and reflective. Kate has more than a little of the fiery Celt in her and she has a way with words. As for the puppets, Rob is previewing an extract from his forthcoming new puppet production for adults: Tales from the Couch using puppetry, live music and storytelling. Without giving too much away it tells the story of how a working class boy from South Wales ends up scraping a living as a puppeteer.
All in all, it should be a very entertaining evening, much like the best ones spent around the kitchen table at WHC HQ.
