Jennifer Reid - "broadside balladress"
This performance must not be missed by those who love traditional folk music, for Jennifer Reid is a highly accomplished performer specialising in singing ballads. Her repertoire covers themes such Lancashire dialect, Peterloo, mills, collieries, factories, canals and clogging. Over the years, she has worked with a wide range of collaborators ranging from folk-queen, Eliza Carthy to the earthy Hairy Bikers. Most recently she has collaborated with Edward II on the very well received Manchester's Improving Daily album. This is a chance to hear an intimate performance of story songs by an up-and-coming folk star.
