Leo

For over 30 years Leo has been a mainstay of the music and wider cultural life of Hereford. Leo first came to notice in the mid-1990s for organising the highly popular and long-running Madcat Live music nights and since then has gone to develop and deliver numerous other projects including forming the mad cod-Mexican cabaret of Los Squideros and their more sophisticated offshoot El Squid, Most significantly, Leo, together with partner Becs, was a major driving force behind the much missed Hereford River Carnival.    

Madcat Live music started putting on gigs in Hereford 30 years ago, starting at the Black Lion on Bridge Street, then the Old Harp (now the Herdsman) before a five-year residency at the Jailhouse nightclub with two nights of live bands every week.

Since then, Leo has worked across the festival and live music scene, most notably at Glastonbury Festival where he is the venue manager for the Rocket Lounge - a late night stage in the Shangri-la field located in the south east corner of the site. Over the years, he has made friends with many wild and entertaining artists, many of whom will be appearing at the Madcat Live Music Festival.
