Red Ethel are a jazz/folk trio which combine haunting vocals, luscious harmonies, sublime guitars and rich double bass to excellent effect in a set of self-written, spine tingling songs.
I first encountered Kate Hardy over 30 years ago when she was singing with Martin Blake now of Whiskey River. She has one of the most beautiful voices in Herefordshire and it is always a pleasure to hear her sing. Her Wild Hare Club debut was with Pa Fordson in Them Boonies the band before he became totally obsessed with bluegrass and ol' time mountain music and formed The Fordsons. Pa and Kate remain friends and it will be good to see both Red Ethel and The Fordsons sharing De Koffie Pot stage in March 2018.
The Wild Hare Club is of course a family affair.
