Lin, Rob, Nicola-Rose and Ann - Talulah's Goat
Lin, Rob, Nicola-Rose and Ann - Talulah's Goat

Although their faces may be familiar from around town, Talulah's Goat are relatively new to the Herefordshire live music scene. However, over the course of a few gigs in 2019 the band has already built up an eager following, due to the quirky nature of singer/guitarist Rob's songs, the blended vocals of Rob and Nicola-Rose and the gentle acoustic wash of the music which ifeatures Ann's wonderfully melodic violin and the hearbeat pulse of Lin's cajón.

What's not to enjoy?

Here are the players' 'official' bios, should you care to read them.

Rob Ashman has lived in Hereford since he was a child, he has always been musical and theatrical then in 2001 he started Sea Legs Puppet Theatre which he still runs today. Rob has been writing songs all his adult life, and has been in several bands as guitarist and singer. These include Berto just prior to Talulah’s Goat, music is very much part of his life. All his musical energy goes into this new band, as a singer and songwriter.

Ann Rowan is a classically trained violinist formerly of the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra, and has lived in Herefordshire for many years as a working musician and also trained Alexander technique practitioner. In addition to playing in Talulah’s Goat Ann also plays in Country and Western duo Prairie Moon.

Linda Jones (Lin) Hereford born and bred percussionist, Lin has played in a number of bands over the years. Including Caramba and Samba band Ranga and now Talulah’s Goat she can be found keep the beat for Square Peg and Cradle to Grave too.

Nicola-Rose is a relative newcomer to Hereford, moving from South London to the shires five years ago. Where she was trained in opera at Blackheath Conservatoire, as well as singing opera as a hobby. Nicola has also sang backing vocals for several London based Folk and Pop bands. Nicola-Rose musical knowledge and range makes her a fabulous addition into Talulah’s goat.

A week ago Big Al was felled by a heart attack. I, like many others, will miss his warm-hearted company and he has loomed large in my thoughts this past seven days.
